Nearly ten years ago, reeling from the shock of what had happened, we asked permission from BP Fallon’s friends to publish their emails to him about 9/11.

Many emails were from New York, from friends such as Lenny Kaye of The Patti Smith Group and Bob Gruen who managed to photograph the horror from New Jersey where he’d gone to get his car fixed.

These messages – first published on bpfallon.com almost a decade ago – tell in a most intimate way the story of shock and hurt and determination, from heartache to heart…
