Robert Plant talking about his Band Of Joy – with video excerpts of songs from the superb new album:

We saw Robert Plant & The Band Of Joy in Houston Texas in a night of musical magic. It was joyous and celebratory, Robert as special a singer as ever and fronting an extraordinary band led by ace guitarist Buddy Miller and featuring the sublime Patti Griffith.

From Led Zeppelin to his solo work to his already-classic ‘Raising Sand’ record with Alison Krauss to the September 13-released Band Of Joy album… Robert live with The Band Of Joy draws mesmerisingly from his amazing career.

Our favourite? Possibly the magnetic bluesed-out ‘Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down’ from the forthcoming album, previously cut by Willie Nelson and Uncle Tupelo… and then of course there’s the contagiously-percussive ‘Angel Dance’. The timeless troubadour shines on brightly.

To be on a roll and not to rock?
