Christmas in a New York state

We spent Christmas Day in upstate New York. The day was beyond splendid and we graciously and gratefully thank those who know. “Just Say Know”, y’know? And Christmas Day and night time was a visual feast of Yuletide USA. Snow and lights and sights like Santa’s pickup truck. And his helicopter. Tacky? Magnificent? Both. We’re only now getting our head around the wild adventure that was the my bloody valentine-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ at Butlin’s Holiday Camp in Minehead in Somerset in England. Right beside the sea we were and it was cold and windy and rainy – just like those old tales of British holiday camp holidays, the sleet in our faces when we sought refuge in our little chalets, refuge from too much good music and too many good people – and it was excellent.
