AND
THE BEEP GOES ON continued...
And
the following week at Death Disco New York
the young mistress of mystery Kristeen
Young was to be seen blowing minds with her
oh-so-eccentric-it-makes-sense vocal stylings, her producer
and our dear friend Tony Visconti beaming
in attendance. Tony, you understand, he produced T.Rex
and David Bowie and Thin
Lizzy and knows the vibe - witness the aforementioned
DB himself warbling on one of the tracks Tony has produced
on Kristeen. We can be heroes.
Nipping
across the Atlantic Ocean, BP jetted to
Ireland to DJ at the helm of the good ship
Death Disco in the mystical West
Cork township of Clonakilty, the
rockin' climax to the 2005
International Clonakilty Guitar Festival -
which Mr Fallon in his opening speech dedicated to his friend
Noel Redding who'd first drawn him to this
magic place and now which saw BP reunited with his former
PR client and sparring partner Roy
Harper, the man immortalised by Led
Zeppelin in their song Hats Off To
Harper who lives nearby and was giving a guitar
workshop. "What is this Death Disco?"
people asked from one end of Clon to the
other and BP showed them - Hybasil and
Clon band Chucklehead and Cork town's biggies
The
Frank And Walters and then Ol' Eyebrows
himself DJing the dancers till they won't let him stop.
Electric madness in the mists. Mighty.
And
then to BP's home town of Dublin for our
maestro's Special Guest DJ appearance at
The Dun Laoghaire IADT College Fresher's Ball,
young arts students and fresh intelligentsia a go
go. Supported by lauded new trio The Marshall Stars,
BP's relentless three-hour mega-set drives the capacity
audience into such a frenzy that these eighteen-year-olds,
they invade the stage and would still be joyously dancing
there today if they hadn't been gently prised away by security.
"You're a lej" says a new fan as the legend signs
autographs at the end and someone runs off with the Death
Disco candle. What a night.
