SOME VELVET MORNING: KATE CAVORTS cont...

Fur Cups For Teeth Electro! "There's only one word between me doing it or not", BP says. Teasing bastard. Kate tosses her hair back, says "Please", then laughs, makes a "Please, daddy" face that'd melt The Titanic. She can't keep it up and burst into giggles. Her eyes are amazing. You could vanish in them.

The bald ol' coot of a DJ pulls out his Keef X Pensive Winos/Stones mix - and the DJ booth is besieged by people going "Wow! What's that?" After something of a Stones fest that includes Under My Thumb and the horny BP fix of Stray Cat Blues/Sympathy For The Devil, Miss Moss demands more, now in the shape of Bowie. Who could refuse her? She sang so seductively with Bobby Gillespie on the Primals soporific trance through the Lee Hazlewood/Nancy Sinatra opus Some Velvet Morning... And in Sofia Coppola's black and white video for The White Stripes voyeuristic voyage through Dusty Springfield's I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself there she is, La Moss herself, a peach on heat pole-dancing to the max and diggin' it. Cheeky thing. Lovely.

Yes, who could refuse this rock'n'roll girl, especially when she's asking so nicely. So Fallon - big ol' Jazz Woodbine in his gob - he whips out his Wham Bam Hang On To Detroit DB mix. "I'm an alligator!" Kate is now shouting at BP. "I'm a mama-papa coming for you!" he shoots back. "Play that one!" Kate instructs. "I can't remember the title - what's it called?" says BP. "I can't remember either" says Kate. Freak out in a moonage daydream, indeed. Blessed are they that can feel. So under Kate's spell is BP that she finally manages to get him to play Bowie singing with a group who normally make him vomit, Queen. Under Pressure sounds great and the dancefloor goes even more bonkers. What a hoot. Music's a gas, people too. Kate, you rock. Put your ray gun to my head. Death Disco: the freedom to rock. Yes.
