& ONO & FALLON: INSTANT KARMA'S GONNA GET YOU! The John Lennon DVD Lennon Legend: The Very Best Of John Lennon contains the BBC clip of Lennon's song Instant Karma which was broadcast by Top Of The Pops on February 12 1970. This footage was believed lost and was only discovered recently. The Plastic Ono Band, from left to right: John Lennon [vocals & piano], Yoko Ono [knitting & Kotex eyewear], the Beatles' road manager Mal Evans [tambourine], BP Fallon [bass guitar], the Apple Records official House Hippy Richard DiLello [camera], Klaus Voorman [bass guitar] and Alan White [drums]. "I can't play bass" reveals Mr Fallon, still laughing, "but it's better than whacking a tambourine in John's left ear and almost putting him off his singing". Which - as our last two pictures and second video show - is what BP did the previous week on the Top Of The Pops of February 5 1970... |
