Jaime Coon: Skin + Bones in Ireland - The
Gallery
Photography
by

THE STORY
A while ago as the crow flies and the eagle soars and the ducks
quack, Jaime Coon flies from New York to DJ in Ireland at DeathDiscoDublin#3.
There, she turntables a non-stop rockin' hour of Ramones hits
and Ramones rarities as her tribute to Joey and Dee Dee RIP. Everyone
rocks out gloriously.
There in Ireland, Jaime and BP Fallon continue their on-going
photographic collaboration. Photographer and UltraModel are driving
south with the CD player blaring everything from Hank Williams
to Johnny Thunders to Primal Scream.
Stopping awhile in County Wicklow, in Glendalough, tarrying in
the sacred graveyard of the seven churches... further south, as
south as you can go, and near Clonakilty in County Cork our duo
find themselves in Noel Redding's garden, the ghosts of Jimi Hendrix
everywhere and it's calm on the swing... via their friends at
Connolly's Of Leap - very cool music venue in the middle of nowhere
- Fallon and Coon stay at Mona Best's eccentric and enchanting
guest house in Skibbereen, creating photographs in the drawing-room
and in two bedrooms, the Blue Room and the Pink Room; beautiful,
a gift from unknown angels... our heroes head west to the wind-swept
timelessness of the Beara Peninsula that thrusts itself out into
the wild Atlantic Ocean, drive over the Caho Mountains through
Healy Pass and into the mysteries of County Kerry and the magic
of Valentia Island and then eight and a half miles more out to
sea to the island of Skellig Michael, 600 steps carved out of
rock that rise into the mists in this stairway to heaven where
once monks levitated as the salt-waves lashed them...
BP and Jaime venture onwards and meet five cows... and a goat.
And a headless woman. Join
them...
