Jaime Coon - biography
THE STORY SO FAR
Jaime Coon: female, lives in New York, born in Germany, raised
in Washington State. Becomes muse to the painter Tashina Suzuki
at the age of 15. Begins to art model for painters and sculptors
in Seattle and by modeling at the Cornish College Of The Arts
- the most prestigious art school on the West Coast - she makes
a name for herself in the Seattle art world.
On the West Coast, Jaime Coon also worked as a fashion model for
photographers and designers that include Soma photographer Michael
Doucett and Vogue photographer Rocky Salskov.
Two years ago in New York, Jaime Coon meets and begins her ongoing
work with outlaw rock'n'roll photographer BP
Fallon - feted for his iconic images of U2, Led Zeppelin
and Primal Scream. She dances on stage with the outrageous Queen
Of Rock'n'Roll Little Richard and the wise ol'
Dr John sings a song to this young 'un on her birthday. Her writings
appear in Voices
Of America. And she poses for the internationally-renowned
installation artist Sandy Scoglund for her Breathing
Glass project - which was hung in The American Craft Museum
in New York.
Jaime Coon inspired the Miramax animation sculptor Robert Stanley
to create the lauded celebration that is his statue The Winged
Woman. And the notorious filmmaker Niko Sluzki, his beautiful
underground cult movie Woken Sleep stars Jaime Coon.

"Wearing
clothes is interesting too!" Jaime Coon laughs. "I enjoy the fashion
modeling as much as being known in art circles as 'The
Winged Woman' or 'The
Skin + Bones Girl' ! Mad, isn't it?" She laughs again,
pauses, goes all reflective for a moment, then says smiling "It's
all good, life's a gas if you let it be..."
